Client Onboarding

Australia's expanded AML/CTF regime

Tranche 2 obligations are now in force.

From 1 July 2026, Australia's AML/CTF obligations expanded to certain designated services commonly provided across six newly regulated industry groups.

Whether a particular business is regulated depends on the services it provides. CertusAML is launching first for dealers in precious metals, stones and products, with real estate and conveyancing workflows to follow and other sectors on our roadmap.

FAQ

Answers about CertusAML

How the platform supports your customer due diligence process, keeps decisions reviewable, and helps your team stay on top of AML/CTF obligations.

How does CertusAML help my business stay compliant?

CertusAML gives your team a structured, repeatable way to complete and evidence customer due diligence. It brings client intake, risk assessment, proportionate requirements, onboarding, staff review, and final risk decisions into one workflow, helping your business apply its AML/CTF processes consistently and maintain clear records.

Who is CertusAML built for?

CertusAML is built for Australian businesses managing AML/CTF obligations under the Tranche 2 reforms. We are launching first with dealers in precious metals, stones and products, followed by real estate and conveyancing workflows. Support for lawyers, accountants, and trust and company service providers is on our roadmap. Whether particular obligations apply depends on the services your business provides.

What does the customer due diligence workflow cover?

CertusAML covers identity verification for individual customers and for the named contact person of company customers, checking Australian driver's licence and passport details against Australian records. It supports PEP, targeted financial sanctions, and adverse-media screening, captures the nature and purpose of the relationship, and collects source of funds and source of wealth information when required by the customer's risk profile. Staff record findings on any screening matches and make the final decision on each transaction, with a clear record of the evidence collected and every decision made. Company registry (KYB) checks and beneficial-owner verification are on our roadmap.

How are risk decisions handled?

CertusAML keeps risk factors, requirements, evidence, findings, and decision notes visible and versioned. Authorised staff make every decision, with a clear record of who decided and the evidence they relied on.
